It blew hot ! - It blew Cold !
West Thurrock Power Station shivered with the rest of the Country during the big freeze of 1985.
Nowhere more so than the northern end of No 1 Boiler where water spurted out from a burst pipe and created some king size icicles, as well as covering the pipe with ice
The Unit kept running
The area was cordoned off and the ice allowed to melt naturally, the boiler was unaffected and the Unit kept on generating
